What are push notifications?

Push messages are notifications sent directly to the user from apps or websites. A good push message should:

Be relevant and targeted to the audience.
Be clearly and concisely worded.
Be sent at the right time without appearing too frequently.
Contain a clear call-to-action (CTA) to show the user what steps to take next.
Comply with privacy regulations.

Unlike in-app messages, push messages will appear to the user on the mobile device on the lock screen, even if the device is locked.
Generally, they appear in the notification bar at the top of the screen while the user is using the device.

An effective push notification attracts the user's attention, delivers value, and encourages positive user interactions.
