What is 2-Factor-Authentication?



Two-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification or dual factor authentication, is a security process in which the user provides two different authentication factors to verify themselves to better protect both the user's credentials and the resources the user can access. Two-factor authentication provides a higher level of assurance than authentication methods that depend on single-factor authentication (SFA), in which the user provides only one factor -- typically a password or passcode. Two-factor authentication methods rely on users providing a password as well as a second factor, usually either a security token or a biometric factor like a fingerprint or facial scan.

Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to the authentication process by making it harder for attackers to gain access to a person's devices or online accounts, because knowing the victim's password alone is not enough to pass the authentication check.

What is phone-lock?



Phone-lock is another type of two-step verification or dual factor authentication, where the user need to protect his/her mobile device with a password in order to access the company app

Why I need to activate 2-Factor-Authentication or phone-lock ?



You might need to activate 2-Factor-Authentication or phone-lock or both depending on the settings of your organisation. In case your organisation has enabled 2-Factor-Authentication and phone-lock for specific or all users, then it is compulsory for those users to set up 2-Factor-Authentication and phone-lock before accessing the resource from the company app for security reasons.
